Easter 2005 + Bikeride in the Storm

Today I woke up around 11am and my grandparents, and my mom’s sister, plus one of my cousins were here along with their kids. My sister Amanda and her Husband were there too with Alex, so there was a decent number of people there and it was just about time for lunch. For lunch we had cooked salmon and bbq’d steaks, along with fried rice, salad and plenty of appetizers. I wasn’t very hungry by the time we were done eating, yet there was still so much candy to eat. My mom always has us do an easter egg hunt, and it isn’t so awkward anymore because there are again little kids to go do it with, instead of just the adults. But for the adults there is always a well hidden ‘golden egg’ which has at least $20 in it. I guess thats what motivates us to go look for the eggs, and today I didn’t pick up any eggs unless it was the golden one, which I didn’t find.

After the relatives left I went on my bike ride. It was a really windy day, and I took my poncho in my camel back just in case, and it was a good thing too, because just as I was taking some pictures of the Vassona dam, it started to rain decently hard. I put on my poncho and continued on. It was difficult riding into the wind, but I knew the whole time that it would just make my ride home that much easier. It would have been a crazy insane day to sail, but something bad would have probably happened if we did go. As you can see I got some pictures of the spillway up at Lexington. Contrary to what the Santa Clara county water website says, it seems like there are less than 2 feet before the lake spills. The website says there are roughly 4.5 feet. I also added some banner pictures today at the top of the site, If you click on the ‘header’ link at the top and scroll to the bottom, you will see the new ones.

Alex’s 1st Birthday Party

Alex, my nephew, turned 1 year old on wednesday, and today was his birthday party. I woke up at around 10:30 to go to a park in mountain view by 11am with my parents. There were a number of people there including my sister of course, Alex, my cousin Lisha and her husband and kids, lots of Dave’s family, and a few friends. There were probably about 25 people there, we ate some good little sandwiches and snacks before having some birthday cake. Alex was so cute when we all started to sing him happy birthday… he didnt really care about his little cake, but more abou the fact that we were all clapping. He just clapped along with everyone and had a grand old time. After our cake settled, Alex sat on a picknick table with all his presents and watched his mother open them for him… It was cool to see which ones he liked, and you could really tell, especially when he wouldnt stop climbing all over the boxes and trying to figure out what was inside. I also took over 300 pictures of alex and the party while I was there, and now I get to upload them while i wait for Jacob to get here so we can go on our daily bikeride.
