Finally a decent Hard Drive camcorder
So I’ve been wanting a camcorder for quite some time now, but I hate tapes, and want random access and quick file transfers to the computer for editing. JVC has just announced an updated version of their Everio G Series camcorders. It will come in a 20gb and 30gb version and has a 2mpixel sensor that can encode mpeg-2 video at up to 9mbps. This will hopefully be good enough quality to be useful. I also hope that apple’s video programs will allow direct editing of mpeg2 video, if they dont, then the whole thing is crap. It holds 7 hours of dvd movie quality video. Lets hope the battery life is good aswell.
